19th century French Limoges hand-painted covered tureen with platter is a stunning example of the exquisite porcelains that were produced during the period by master ceramicists. The stately neoclassical form of the tureen is enhanced by the painted detailing in gold, including the handles on both sides, the finial atop the lid, and bordering around the lid, tureen and platter. Such works are considered so decorative that they can be used as centerpieces by themselves, or for serving the chef’s masterpiece in style! Hand-painted, it has been signed by the artist ~ A. Gillari.
