Jasperware or jasper ware is a type of pottery first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. Jasperware is usually described as stoneware, with an unglazed matte “biscuit” finish. Josiah Wedgwood is credited with industrializing the manufacture of pottery.
